It has been five years since Pam became paralyzed after the car crash. James was there for whatever she needed. But recently, he wanted something which devastated Pam. James wanted to sleep in a separate room. He arranged some items for Pam, where he put them to a place where Pam could reach easily, and went to his room to sleep alone.

Pam was devastated. That night, she heard strange noises. Faint scratches and muffled thumps. Slowly the sound grew louder and more frequent. She was thinking about terrible things. Was James packing his stuff and preparing to leave?

As few days passed with sounds like these, she one day tried to check James’ room, but the door was locked. When James returned from work, she confronted her husband.

He was shocked when he learned that Pam was thinking he is going to leave. James told his wife that he just wanted to sleep alone as he was afraid to hurt her since he was a restless sleeper.

This was not a problem before, but Pam thought that her husband was not telling the truth.

That night, the sounds were louder than before. She went to her husband’s room on her wheelchair, and called him out to talk about the noise.

When she knocked the door, the door got opened as it was unlocked. There, James was in the middle of the room where he was surrounded with unfinished furniture foundations and paint cans.

James’ face went pale. He told Pam that she shouldn’t see this yet as it was his surprise.

James wanted to make a lift system for his wife, where she would be more comfortable while leaving the bed, toilet seat, the stairs, etc…

He wanted to help his wife to live comfortably, and easily. There was also some other furniture just made for her height. There were drawers for her to reach easily.

Pam cried as she went emotional. James then brought the heating pad custom made just for her legs.

He told her that he wanted to surprise his lovely wife and spoil her a little bit. And apologized for the secrecy, and for she was scared about things that will never come true, because James was madly in love with Pam.
